Mondadori Education, the Mondadori Group publishing house for educational content, is organized in two editorial areas: Educational Textbook Publishing and Other Educational Publishing (dictionaries, training manuals, Italian as a second language, higher education).
Since 2000 Mondadori Education (until 2007 called Edumond Le Monnier) has produced a complete range of school textbooks, courses, supplementary materials and multimedia content for all levels, from primary to high schools with 12 wholly owned imprints.
At the beginning of 2009 the company launched Mondadori for English, a new imprint for courses and supplementary materials for the teaching of English in first and second grade high schools.
In 2002, with the Mondadori Università and Le Monnier Università imprints, Mondadori Education entered the higher education publishing segment with an articulated range of manuals and background texts. In October 2008, in cooperation with Italy’s biggest university, the country’s first University Press was created, Mondadori Università - La Sapienza.
The prestigious Le Monnier imprint completes the company’s offer in the educational market with the publication of high-quality dictionaries (Devoto-Oli for Italian, edited by the country’s two leading linguists: Luca Serianni and Maurizio Trifone; the Latin dictionary il Latino edited by Gian Biagio Conte, Emilio Pianezzola and Giuliano Ranucci; l'Etimologico edited by Alberto Nocentini), all of them also available as digital apps, and a range of courses and materials for the teaching of Italian as a foreign language (L2).
In collaboration with MIUR – the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, the company also publishes specialized reviews for schools and teachers (Annali della Pubblica Istruzione, Studi e Documenti degli Annali, Rassegna dell'istruzione) and high-level academic reviews (Archivio glottologico italiano, Archimede, Atene e Roma, Nuova Antologia, Studi italiani di filologia classica, RSA Journal - Rivista di Studi Americani).
At the foreground of digital evolution in educational publishing, Mondadori Education has been cooperating with Young Digital Planet since 2010, with the aim of offering premium digital content for the Science and Maths curricula.
