2009-06-18
We are pleased to inform you that the inventions of the Multimedia System Department at the Gdańsk Univeristy of Technology – the prototypes of future products for Young Digital Planet – have been awarded with medals at the 108th International Invention Exhibition Concours Lépine in Paris. The event was organized by the French Association of Inventors and Producers.

The gold medal has been awarded to Mouth Mouse – the multimedia interface that allows a user to operate a computer using just the mouth and tongue. A special camera and advanced system enables it to follow in real-time even the slightest lip movement and change the position of the cursor in response to the user's gestures.
The silver medal has been awarded to Intelligent Pen – a tool supporting the therapy of developmental dyslexia (dysgraphia in particular).
The panel of 47 judges, which included experts from all the industries represented at the Paris Exhibition, gave a very high opinion of both tools. During this prestigious competition among the most promising innovations, the jury had to consider the innovation and technology used by the exhibited products, as well as social implication and potential application of the products to be implemented and introduced into sales market. Soon, both “winners” will be taken on by Young Digital Planet, whose portfolio is known amongst the specialists as eduSensus. Both tools are currently at the advanced prototype stage of development.
