Q: "Why is it important for Young Digital Planet to support the event?"
Piotr Mroz: "Yes, indeed Young Digital Planet is a major sponsor of eLearning Awards for the fifth consecutive year. From the very beginning of our activity, so for over 18 years now, we were trying to be an innovative and creative company.
So, we were developing many new digital products, often within the very new or even non-existing yet product categories. It was always extremely important to us to observe how this products were actually used by the teachers and pupils in their everyday practice. We often discovered their new approaches, sometimes different from what we’ve expected, and we were often inspired by their innovative approach.
That is why it is also so much important for us to encourage teachers and pupils to create their own technology based projects like these which are promoted by eLearnig Awards contest. By observing the most successful projects we can learn really a lot. By sponsoring the eLearning Awards we also want to thank to those who take this effort and introduce the modern technology in their everyday school activities.
In respect of our observations regarding the progress of usage of learning objects we record really a big progress. We run actively several projects in several countries and more and more often we are very positively surprised how well the new interactive content as adopted by the teachers and pupils. Sometimes the progress and adoption rate is even quicker than we originally anticipated.
Moreover, YDP is a close partner to many leading textbook publishers who extend their traditional produts, which so far were mostly based on printed materials, toward the electronic, interactive content. Today practically every serious textbook publisher, while working on a new textbook or a method, is involved also in preparation of a new digital component that will address constantly increasing demand for high quality electronic content. So, we can confidently say that within next years we will see a lot of new educational projects and initiatives, that will use ICT technology which in some of the countries is already becoming a standard rather than just the innovation."
